Job Description
Role Description
CGI is seeking a Database Administrator to provide administration, operational support, development, upgrades, migrations and troubleshooting. In addition to Sybase, the candidate must have either SQL or Oracle experience.
This ideal candidate will be located in Detroit, Michigan, but will consider remote candidates currently located in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Wisconsin.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Support database administration, architecture, development
- Implementation of best practices
- Perform next generation SQL DB architecture, design and implementation
- Perform database upgrades and migrations
- Resolve high priority issues related to the database development work
- Provide operational support, including monitoring, tuning, backup and restore functions
Qualifications
- Sybase DBA with either SQL or Oracle DBA experience
- Ability to perform DBA duties, including database design and implementation (logical and physical), manage data synchronization and replication, manage permissions, upgrades, patches, and maintenance, such as add additional databases/tables and database expansion
- SQL and T-SQL expertise
- Performance tuning expertise to identify bottlenecks, optimize queries, indexing, and tuning
- Implementation of robust backup strategies, restore procedures, and high availability configurations
- Modify schemas as requested to applications
- Strong problem solving, communications and collaboration skills, along with attention to detail
Requirements
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $69,700.00 - $154,300.00.
